geoFlock: Add Location

There are a number of ways to add a location to your address list. Please note that googles geocoder does not currently support all addresses, particularly those from the UK and China.

- Drag and Drop: highlight an address found in a webpage, drag and drop anywhere in the topbar minimapper and it will be added.

Drag and drop a google maps or yahoo maps link into the topbar minimapper and it will be added (The type of link found in sites such as craigslist).

The title will be automatically set as the webpage title and the URL of the current page will be recorded in the entries properties. These can be edited in the properties dialog (see Exploring the address list).

- Manually add an address: Click on the 'Add Address' toolbar button to bring up the add address dialog, input a title and address and click done.

The current webpage URL will be recorded in theentries properties if adding from the topbar minimapper, a link to google mapswill be set as the URL if adding from the photo or blog geotag dialogs. Thesecan be edited in the properties dialog (see Exploring the address list).

- Manually add a coordinate: Click on the toolbar button to add the map centre (red crosshair) as a location. You can use the pan to coordinate toolbar button to search for and centre a coordinate beforehand.

The title will be set as 'Coordinate' and a link to google maps will be set as the URL for the entries properties. These can be edited in the properties dialog (see Exploring the address list).

- Map Home: you can pan the map and set the centre (red crosshair) as the map home. Right-click on the toolbar or thel atitude/longitude display box and select the Set as Map Home context menuitem.

A note about accuracy: When you add an address listentry, the location accuracy is recorded in the entries properties. If adding an address, googles geocoder returns the following accuracy levels;

  1. Country level accuracy
  2. State/Region level accuracy
  3. County/Municipality level accuracy
  4. Town/Village level accuracy
  5. Postal code level accuracy
  6. Street level accuracy
  7. Intersection level accuracy
  8. Address level accuracy
If adding a coordinate, the accuracy is recorded as '8- Address Level Accuracy'.
